Holiday Provision at Maud Village Trust: What's On This Summer

The school holidays are nearly here, and we have a programme of activities lined up to keep children, young people and families busy, fed and well looked after right through the break. From a relaxed Lego and story morning to a three-day sports camp and a Blue Light breakfast club with the fire service, there is something for everyone. Read on to find out what holiday provision is all about and how to take part.

What are holiday provision sessions?

Holiday provision refers to organised free or low-cost activities and support offered to children, young people and families during the school holidays. These programmes bring together opportunities for play, learning, physical activity and social interaction, alongside practical support such as healthy meals or snacks.

The aim is simple: to provide a safe, positive environment where children can stay active, have fun and keep developing their skills outside of the classroom.

Who is it for?

Our holiday provision is open to children, teens and families, and it is inclusive for everyone. Whether you are looking for a quiet, creative morning or something more active, you are welcome to come along.

What are the benefits?

The holidays should be a time to enjoy, but they can also bring added pressure for families, whether that is childcare costs, food insecurity or feeling a little isolated. Holiday provision gives children something positive and engaging to look forward to, helps tackle food insecurity, and encourages everyone to step away from screens and take part in fun activities together. At the same time, it offers families a bit of welcome support during a busier stretch of the year.

What else may be useful to know?

These sessions help families stay connected, support children's wellbeing and make sure that everyone can enjoy positive experiences throughout the break. They are a chance to meet other local families, try something new and feel part of the wider Maud community.
