The Difference We Make Together
Our Impact
Every service delivered, every person supported, every challenge overcome - this is the real impact of what happens when a community comes together with purpose.
Est. 2002
Over 20 years transforming a derelict cattle market into Central Buchan's beating heart.
46,000+
People we are here to support. Residents across Buchan and wider Aberdeenshire are accessing Maud Village Trust services.
30+
Services, classes and support initiatives. From crisis support to fitness classes, healthcare to hot meals - essential services under one roof.
The Impact That Matters
Numbers tell part of the story, but they can't capture everything. They don't show the single parent who can finally afford to feed their children because of Just Ask. The person who found hope again through The Listening Ear. The elderly resident who stays connected through our café. The teenager who discovered fitness through our gym programmes.
Impact isn't just what we do - it's the difference we make in real people's lives, every single day.
This is what happens when a community refuses to accept decline and instead builds something better.
Real People. Real Stories. Real Impact.
Investment in Services in an Investment in Lives
Maud Village Trust isn't fully funded by government grants. While we receive some statutory support for specific services, much of what we do relies on donations, fundraising, business income from our café and gym, and the generosity of local businesses and individuals.
This means every pound donated directly impacts service delivery.
The Cost of Not Acting
Without adequate funding:
Families in crisis wait longer for support
Services reduce hours or capacity
Vulnerable people fall through gaps
Preventative programmes get cut, leading to bigger problems later
The community loses the safety net it depends on
We're not asking for charity - we're asking for investment in community resilience, health, and wellbeing. Every service we deliver saves money elsewhere in the system while improving lives locally.
The Impact of Local Business Space
More Than Just Tenants
The Community Service Centre isn't just property management - it's economic development with purpose. By providing affordable, accessible business space, we enable local enterprises to establish and grow while ensuring the services they provide benefit Central Buchan.
Job Creation
Our tenants employ local people, keeping money circulating in the Central Buchan economy rather than flowing out to larger towns or cities.
Service Accessibility
From agricultural consultancy to community transport, picture framing to the café - these businesses provide services people would otherwise travel for or go without.
Community Connection
Local businesses understand local needs. They're invested in the community's success because they're part of it.
Economic Resilience
Diverse local businesses create economic resilience - when one sector struggles, others support the community fabric.
Our Commitment to Continued Impact
The needs of Central Buchan will continue to evolve. Economic pressures, healthcare demands, social isolation, climate challenges - communities face complex, interconnected issues.
Our commitment is simple: we'll continue identifying what our community needs, then working in partnership to deliver it. We'll adapt, innovate, and respond - just as we have for over 20 years.
The Old Mart Community Resource Centre isn't finished - it's evolving to meet tomorrow's challenges while serving today's needs.
