Join the Old Mart Gym 6 Week Challenge This Summer

Summer can be a tricky time to stay on track. The routine goes out the window, the weeks run away from you, and before you know it you've lost the consistency you worked so hard to build. Our new 6 Week Challenge at Old Mart Gym is here to help with exactly that.

Starting the week of 27 July, the challenge is built around two simple things: accountability and consistency. It isn't about chasing the scales or hitting one fixed target. It's about turning up, building healthier habits, and keeping each other going through the summer, with a bit of structure and a lot of support along the way.

A challenge that fits your goals

No two people walk into the gym for the same reason, so this challenge is designed to flex around you. Whether your goal is to lose body fat, build strength, improve your fitness, feel more confident in the gym, or simply settle into a healthier routine, we'll tailor the six weeks to suit you.

You don't need to already be fit to take part, and you don't need to know your way around every machine. We'll meet you wherever you're starting from and build out from there.

How the six weeks work

There's a different focus each week, with a mix of training, challenges, and a few things that get us out of the gym and into the community.

Week 1 — Assessments and fitness tests. We set your starting point with some simple assessments and fitness tests, so you can see clearly how far you've come by the end.

Week 2 — Move more week. A step challenge to get everyone moving, plus a group walk that the whole family is welcome to join, children included. There's a free gym access prize up for grabs too.

Week 3 — Get outside week. An outdoor group bootcamp, along with a set of outdoor activities to complete and share with the group. This is also when we check in with you halfway through, with a short form and some personal feedback to keep you moving in the right direction.

Week 4 — Nutrition week. A healthy meal challenge to help you build eating habits that actually last, with recipes shared in the group to give you ideas.

Week 5 — Community week. A run or walk together, followed by a coffee and a catch-up. A relaxed week that's as much about the people as the exercise.

Week 6 — Final week. Final assessments to see your progress, a group workout to finish on a high (outside if the weather is kind), and awards for every single person taking part.

What's included

For £75, every person taking part gets:

  • 2 x 45-minute personal training sessions, worth £60

  • A free personalised training programme, with home or gym based plans

  • A free laminated habit tracker to keep you on track

  • Access to our WhatsApp accountability group, with recipes added throughout

  • A mid-challenge check-in in Week 3, with a form and personal feedback

  • Before and after assessments

  • Prizes and challenges throughout the six weeks

How to sign up

Spaces are limited, and all initial assessments are carried out the week before the challenge begins so your personalised plan is ready for day one. If you'd like to take part, the sooner you get your name down, the better.

To sign up or ask any questions, pop into the gym, call us on 01771 613960, or send us a message. We'd love to have you along.
