Lighting Up Maud, Window Wanderland 2025
This year, Maud Village Trust was delighted to bring the community together once again for Window Wanderland, a creative event that transformed the village into a glowing trail of colour, imagination, and local pride.
Residents, families, and community groups were invited to decorate their windows with lights and artwork, creating a magical evening walk for everyone to enjoy. The response was fantastic, with many households taking part and visitors exploring the village to admire the displays and support their neighbours.
The event was coordinated by our Community Mental Health Project Officer, with support from staff, volunteers, and local groups. Our Crochet and Lego Clubs contributed creative pieces, and the first evening was supported with refreshments from Conversation Café, helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
Community support played a key role in making the event possible. Local business Homeshield Scotland kindly sponsored £75 towards printing costs for posters and route maps, helping us share the trail across the area. Materials for craft activities, lighting, and display resources were also provided to help residents get involved. MVT Evaluation Sheet-Window Wan…
Window Wanderland is about more than decoration. Events like this encourage people to get out, connect with their community, and enjoy shared experiences, helping to reduce isolation and support positive mental wellbeing across Central Buchan.
The creativity, enthusiasm, and community spirit on display made the event a real success, and we would like to thank everyone who took part, volunteered, or supported the project.
If you would like to get involved in future community events or support the work of Maud Village Trust, please visit our volunteer page or get in touch. Together, we can continue to create activities that bring our community to life.
